Yarr…go away rain. I need to run… Don’t like being wet when running, unless it’s sweat ;)

What a couple of gained pounds (not muscle) does to your running ability…. sigh
I don’t think I’ve gone on a 12 minute mile pace since like…middle school. Lol but that’s the worst of it
That time of the year whenTumblr actually gives me motivation to keep running. Day 1 of marathon training starts today. Better late than never.

Ahhh….nice to see you again Tumblr. Everything’s been hectic with all the moving and stuff, and also my laziness. But I started week 7. 9 more weeks to go! :x
Yesterday (7/24), I ran 3.2 easy miles. Except I felt sluggish. It was hot, and it had been 6 days since I last ran. I ran at a 9:11 min/mile pace.
Today, I managed to finish 7 miles quite easily. 65:47 for a 9:23 min/mile pace. My run was steady, with a couple walks (by the fruit stand and at the top of evil giant hill). The walks were a little longer, about 90-120 seconds. It’s hard to tell whether I would’ve ran a faster pace if I didn’t stop because I wouldn’t be wasting time, or slower because I might be running slower. I don’t know, but the last time I ran 7 mile, it took me 1 hour and 14 minutes. Progress!
The only thing though is that I find it very difficult to get up. It took me an hour to get up and another 30 minutes to get out of my house and start running.
In other news, I love protein. I tried Luna Bar today (Caramel Nut Brownie). It was delicious! I may have to take some with me on vacation. Then I ate Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I really needed to up my protein intake because I usually get about 30 grams, but today I got 84 grams! Yay!
PS
Eying a 12 mile run on Sunday. Wish me luck!
I’ve been on a hiatus in light of my 21st birthday. I’m itching to run o_o
Hahaha this zombie game is awesome. I tried it today for my short 3 mile run. (Yeah I skipped my 10 miles. I’ll spare you my BS excuses) I had to sprint 3 times but I got caught twice because I wasn’t running fast enough. But the sprinting drained me though. Ended up running 3 miles in 29:30 (9:50 min/mile). Stopped a couple times because my ears were so sweaty that my headphones kept falling out and I wanted to check my progress on zombies run lol.
On a sadder note, I missed the sprinklers because I didn’t get out in time :(
Tomorrow is 5 miles…will definitely have to wake up early.
Just bought the Zombies, Run! app for Android. Haha can’t wait to use it for tomorrow. Planning on running the 10 miles I was supposed to do today, but we’ll see :P
Today was a “short” 5.4 miles for 50:53 (9:25 min/mile). I kinda treated this as my long run because, well, 5 miles is still a lot to me. I guess it has to be my new 4 miler - the long short run.
Anyway, I REALLY enjoyed this run, aside from the technical difficulties. My pace felt like a long run (really nice pace), even though my running log says that this is fast. This is because I stopped ONCE. That’s right - one time. Usually I would stop to walk 3 or more times on 5 milers, but I walked once for 1 minute (at the evil giant hill of course). I was so proud of myself. :)
I ran through sprinklers, twice. It was awesome, and I’m not kidding when I say that I was laughing. Like a hyper child who’s never seen water. I was having fun! :D
In the last 0.4 mile, I went faster as I focused on longer quicker strides. I may make that a part of my run just to work on speed because I liked it so much. I glided on those last few hundred meters.
Last night, I was not able to sleep. I lay in my bed in the dark for 3 hours. Then, I found a friend who was also surprisingly still awake and we texted for 2 hours, while I sat there eating pretzels and almond butter and drinking Arizona green tea…yeah. I couldn’t sleep, and I seriously thought I wasn’t going to, but I ended up sleeping at 6, only to wake up at 8 am. (Now that I think about it, I don’t know why I had to wake up at 8…)
Still, it didn’t stop me from working out. Today was a scheduled 3 mile run, but I decided to make this into a track workout - 3 1-mile repeats. I figured my 5k race pace is 8:52, so subtracting 10 seconds, my target pace for this workout is 8:42. So that was my target, but I always, always end up going faster for some reason. I have no discipline when it comes to keeping target paces lol. I ended up running the miles between 8:20 to 8:30, with a 90-120 second rest. It was hot and humid, and I was sweating so much I literally felt like I just took a shower 0_0 But I felt good and satisfied with the workout :)
Tomorrow, I have to get up around 7 am to get my 5 miles in. My reward is Amazing Spider Man! :D
When you can say and really mean that, you know you’re mentally strong.
Long run. Ran 8.5 brutal miles in 1 hour 24 minutes (9:52 min/mile) in the town that I’ll be moving to in a couple weeks. I walked the first half mile, but I didn’t count it towards my mileage or time. My pace was right where I wanted to be, 60-90 seconds than my normal pace. I actually thought 9:52 is pretty good considering this is hilliest I’ve run so far. They were short, steep hills mostly and they killed =/ I also ran what seemed like the longest street in the country, even though it was only 2.6 miles haha. So run that twice and it’s 5.2 miles long =O At around mile 7.5, I felt my legs get wobbly. Something I’ve never felt before, but I think it’s just my legs crying because I’ve never gone that far.
Overall, good run and I’m happy with it =) I saw four horses, heard a rooster, and lots of farmland.
On Friday, I ran a fast 2.95 miles, 26:10. 8:52 min/mile. I don’t know what’s gotten to me that I run faster all of sudden. It must be the music, but I still don’t like carrying my huge phone with me. The earbuds that I used were smaller, but they still slip out when I get sweaty =/
I was supposed to run 9 miles today for the long run of the week, but I admit…I didn’t want to get up. Tomorrow will be 9 mile day for week 5, day 1. I’m so scared lol
I was also at Boston that day. (Let’s not get into what I ate that day.) We walked for hours, and I thought I was gonna get blisters. It was in the 80s, and sunny, but I loved Boston. We didn’t really go deep into the city, but I thought it was quieter and much nicer than New York. We went around MIT, Harvard and Newbury. We were exhausted at the end haha.
